  Woburn Ma Our client is looking for a 6-month consultant to start as soon
as possible for the following Python development role:

Our client has an excellent opportunity for an energetic candidate with a
proven track record. We are transitioning our products back end processing
to be platform independent using the Python programming language. The ideal
candidate will have a computer science degree and fully understand the need
for quality source code.

Responsibilities:

* Translate and interpret coding techniques used in current back end
processing software into quality Python code. The individual will
participate in strategy sessions with engineering management to make the
transition as smooth as possible.
* The candidate will also act as a technical mentor to other team members
and openly and proactively share knowledge.
* The individual must have hands-on experience across the entire software
development cycle from development, unit-testing, maintaining to production
rollout.
* The candidate will seek out and recommend software-coding techniques to
insure top efficiency and performance of Python programs.
* The candidate should have ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic
environment.
* The candidate will also be responsible for recommending and maintaining
strong standard coding conventions, source management, and documentation.

Required Technical Skills:

* Minimum of 5 years experience in analysis, design, and development.
* Minimum of 3 years of strong development experience in the Python.
* Experience with multiple-DBMS environments including SOL server, Oracle &
DB2 UDB.  Minimum of 3 years working with SOL.
* Experience in Python deployment to various OS platforms.

Required Professional Skills:

* Good interpersonal skills with 'team-oriented attitude.
* Commitment to accuracy, quality and attention to details while meeting
deadlines.
* Must write easy-to-maintain code.
* Must possess good organization skills and must be a fast learner.

Considered a big PLUS:

* Retail or distribution experience.
* Java/J2EE, PowerBuilder, Perl.
